On March 15, the ceremonial closing of the national project "Labor Productivity" took place at LLC Melkom-Omsk. For six months, experts from the Regional Competence Center, together with a working group established at the enterprise, have been implementing lean manufacturing tools.The project started in September 2021. After the diagnosis of production, a pilot stream was selected - "Optimization of the flour production process in 50 kg bags". "The working group, together with RCC specialists, conducted diagnostics of the pilot flow, during which more than 30 factors were identified to increase labor productivity. A roadmap has also been formed to achieve the project's targets, a competence matrix and a goal tree have been developed, standardized work has been carried out, a methodology for rapid response to problems has been implemented, key logistics indicators have been formed, and warehouses and stocks have been analyzed.
The developed and implemented solutions reduced the process time by 50%, the reject rate was reduced by 67%, the production of the number of bags per work shift increased by 57% - now 1463 bags of flour are produced instead of 934. It is worth noting that in the future, the working group, together with certified internal trainers of the enterprise, will continue to implement the activities of the national project independently for 2.5 years.
